Class 1

In this 1 day workshop, our young apprentice will develop a short stop motion animation. They would incorporate visual arts, sound, voice and construct sentences to show different types of expressions that would be combined in a short story. Apprentices will reinforce their language, speech and drama skills in this fun workshop.

Class 2

This is a wonderful arts and technology experience for our young apprentice. Using clay, they will mold and model round clay into various shapes. Each transformation and evolution processes would be recorded then animated using the stop motion techniques. Participants will surely enjoy the clay modeling experience while reinforcing the fine motor skills and artistic talents.

Class 3

This is a 2 day animation workshop that introduces our young apprentice to the 3 basic principles of animation the squash and stretch, arc and timing. Broken into 3 parts, the 1st part would take participants through frame by frame animation, enforcing their artistic skills while developing their talents and strong understanding of the animation principles. In the 2nd part, they will be developing animation shorts of the bouncing ball, applying the principles of animation according to different sounds. In the 2nd day, our young apprentice will be using their animated bouncing to produce a short animation. This project would require the apprentice to develop a storyline based on a situation given by the coach through “Ball meets Obstacle”. The apprentice would have to put his/her problem solving skill, critical thinking and much creativity at work in finishing their cartoon.

Class 4
This workshop will focus largely on storytelling. Participants will have to develop their own stories based on situation given. They will be coached to develop plots and scripts, introduce profiles to the bouncing balls to enhance their characters, as well as incorporating relevant sound effects to make their short animation interesting.

Class 5
The Stickman project (Chapter 1) would introduce the young apprentice to the animation tools that are widely used in 2D animation, the Toon Boom Harmony. In Chapter 1, over two days, apprentice would be coached to develop a proper walk cycle, understanding body structure, pivotal points and animation various movements while maintaining their fluidity. In the 2nd day, participants would develop a short stickman animation based on the script given by their coaches. This would reinforce participants’ language proficiency, encouraging them to express their understanding visually and creatively.

Class 6
